Operational Risk Controller

Bambora is a payment institution under the supervision of the Swedish FSA with a growing global presence and a mission to simplify payments for small and midsized merchants. Our head office is in Stockholm, Sweden, but our work reaches people worldwide.

We are now strengthening our risk management function with an Operational Risk Controller. As Operational Risk Controller you will be absolutely key in the forming of solid operational processes, risk framework and a sound risk culture. This will be a chance to develop and thrive in a global organization, where your role will be key in order to control the risks and grow the business responsibly.

You will be reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, also based in Stockholm.


  • Further develop and enhance the operational risk framework to support achievement of risk management objectives.
  • Set up, perform and document risk assessments and risk controls across the acquiring organization which is European.
  • Provide support and advise to business and operations on operational risk management.
  • Analyze Bambora’s essential operational risks and the development of these.
  • Monitor, control and reporting Bambora’s operational risk management development.
  • Promote and communicate the operational risk management.

We are looking for an individual with a humble approach, integrity and a solution oriented mind-set. You should have developed communication skills and thrive in a fast paced environment. As a person, you are open minded and cooperative as well as curious about the payment industry and eager to learn.


  • 5 years of previous experience from working with risk control or compliance. It can be either from consulting, from a specialist role in a small to medium sized company or from the regulatory side.
  • Proven track record from working autonomously with risk management.
  • Good understanding of operational risk management tools and techniques.
  • Fluent in both Swedish and English.


  • Experience from working with VISA and Mastercard regulation and risk management
