Windows System Administrator

Bambora North America processes over 30% of all e-commerce transactions in Canada, in addition to payments in the USA, Great Britain and Europe for over 45,000 customers.

We are seeking an experienced Windows System Administrator to join a team of talented individuals responsible for the administration and maintenance of our Windows-based payment web application and database servers. In addition to ensuring 24/7 availability of the platform, your team is also responsible for empowering Bambora’s feature development teams by providing them with the tools to continuously test, deploy, observe, and scale services in a PCI and SOC compliant environment.

Key Capabilities

  • Administration of Microsoft Windows Server and IIS
  • Administration of server hardware and virtualization with VMware
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
  • Knowledge of high-availability relational databases using SQL Server or PostgreSQL
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting technologies
  • Networking in software and appliances (firewalls, routers, VPN, storage)

Nice to have

  • Experience working alongside Agile software development teams
  • Experience with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Git
  • Experience with public cloud providers such as AWS or Azure
  • Administration and automation of Linux-based servers
  • Experience with regulated environments and audits (PCI, SOC)

Qualifications Required

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in an information technology related discipline, or equivalent job experience
  • Fluency in English (written and oral)
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada

This position requires the ability to work on-site at Bambora's Victoria, Canada office. If you don't currently live in the Greater Victoria area, as part of your application please tell us why you'd like to relocate and include a realistic timeframe.
