Risk Control Officer

Bambora is a payment institution under the supervision of the Swedish FSA with a growing global presence and a mission to simplify payments for small and midsized merchants. Our head office is in Stockholm, Sweden, but our work reaches people worldwide.

We are now strengthening our control function with a Risk Control Officer. As Risk Control Officer you will be absolutely key in the forming of solid processes and a sound risk culture. This will be a chance to develop and thrive in a global organization, where your role will be key in order to control the risks and grow the business responsibly.

You will be reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, also based in Stockholm.

Your overall responsibilities will be the following

  • Set up, perform and document risk controls across the acquiring organization which is European
  • Perform controls on all essential risks which Bambora is exposed to
  • Perform controls on the business units to ensure they monitor all essential risks in an efficient manner
  • Monitor and control Bambora’s risk management
  • Analyze Bambora’s essential risks and the development of these
  • Support in producing risk reports

Qualifications required
We are looking for an individual with a can-do attitude who can grow with the tasks, and become a key player enhancing the risk function with accuracy in the deliveries.

  • As a person, you are open minded and cooperative as well as curious about the payment industry and humble to learn.
  • Previous experience from working with risk control or compliance, backed up with demonstrated accomplishments in the area
  • Experience form working in a regulated business and/or the experience from the financial sector, including Fin-Tech, bank and Insurance
  • Proven track record from building a robust independent control function (risk and/or compliance)
