DevOps Engineer

Bambora North America processes over 30% of all e-commerce transactions in Canada, in addition to payments in the USA, Great Britain and Europe for over 45,000 merchants.

We are seeking DevOps Engineers to join a team of talented individuals responsible for the software that powers our web-based payments products and services. You will belong to a community of other DevOps Engineers but will spend the majority of your time working directly with a product development team helping them automate, deploy, observe, and scale their production software and infrastructure.

You will have prior experience with automation in IT operations or system administration, or systems-focused software development. You also have a considerable breadth of technical knowledge related to web-based systems.

 Key Capabilities

  • Knowledge of Linux and/or Windows-based operating systems, and automation tools and techniques
  • Ability to participate in 24/7 coverage on-call rotation (currently 1 week shifts)
  • Experience using and administering logging, monitoring, and alerting tools for operating system resources and application services
  • Experience with infrastructure as code using tools such as Ansible, Terraform and Git
  • Understanding of networking in software and appliances (firewalls, routers, VPN, storage)
  • Agile and DevOps principles and practices 

 Nice to have

  • Experience with regulated environments and audits (PCI, SOC)
  • Knowledge of distributed system design and practices 
  • Experience with public cloud providers, Kubernetes, and containerization

Qualifications Required

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent job experience
  • Fluency in English (written and oral)
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada

This position requires the ability to work on-site at Bambora's Victoria, Canada office. If you don't currently reside in the Greater Victoria area, as part of your application please tell us why you'd like to relocate and include a realistic timeframe.
